How to Track Homemade Juices! Ninja NeverClog Cold Press Juicer Review!

Ninja Juicer

Before I get into some formulas and how to track homemade juices, I want to spotlight the Ninja juicer. I have been using it for well over a year, and it's amazing. The juicers I used in the past were a pain to clean! It's very easy to set up and operate. I honestly give it a 9/10. It's extremely useful.

Watermelon on a food scale

Once again, it all comes back to the food scale! If you want to track your macros, become a great baker, and be good at meal portioning, you have to utilize a scale! You can't eyeball or freestyle. Also, the scale is great for accuracy and consistency. Even if you are not tracking calories by using a food scale, you will get the same result every time! You don't have to use it all day every day, but it is great to have in the cabinet. Food scales cost $10 to $30! Well worth the investment.

Now the main difference from tracking regular meals and juices is that you have to find the calories per 100 grams. If you need a refresher on how to track meals, meal preps, fast food, and more, check out my free fitness app guide!

Now, to track homemade juices, head over to https://fdc.nal.usda.gov/ and use the SR Legacy database to search for your ingredients. The site will provide you with the calories per 100 grams! For example, I used watermelon. The formula would be 2,646 (The amount of watermelon) divided by 100 (Food calories per 100 grams). That comes out to 26.46. We would take 26.46 and multiply that by 30 (the number of calories per 100 grams), and we get about 794 calories for the watermelon used!

If that batch of watermelon made 80 ounces of juice, we would divide 794 by 80 to get 9.9 calories per ounce! One 20-ounce bottle would be about 198 calories.

This method will work regardless of how much juice your juice extractor extracts.

Remember, the formula is Calories = (Weight in grams / 100) x Calories per 100 grams. The fiber content will be slightly reduced because of the pulp that's extracted.
